The scheme proposed a high quality development of apartments in blocks of varying heights and configurations dependent on the surrounding circumstances, placed in a landscaped common garden. A terrace of blocks is placed parallel to the eastern boundary. Bedrooms face east with living spaces facing west towards the proposed common garden. The terrace becomes four and five storey where it has the benefit of existing banks of trees reinforced with new planting of semi mature trees. At right angles to this arrangement are placed a series of blocks of varying lengths which step upwards from three to four to five storeys as they extend eastwards. The two shortest blocks are stepped from three to four storeys. This range of buildings are accessed on their northern side and have large south facing terraces. A fundamental decision was made to provide virtually all of the parking below ground thus freeing the site to allow the creation of a large landscaped common garden. All residents enter their apartments from the common garden.
