The associated team of Shay Cleary Architects + Cullen Payne Architects are delighted that permission has been granted for our new housing development in Killeens, Co. Wexford for Wexford County Council.
The scheme envisages a development of approximately 60 homes in a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bed units alongside ancillary facilities and landscaped spaces, directly adjacent to the recently opened Min Ryan Park. Using our expertise in the Low-Rise Medium-Density housing sector, the team has proposed an innovative mix of houses, and duplex maisonettes in an own-door format throughout, all while working within the demanding cost and efficiency requirements of the sector.
This is a significant proof of concept for our Low-Rise Medium-Density housing development strategy, providing apartment-like densities, but with much improved cost effectiveness and positive impact on viability. These principles can be applied in both the social and affordable sector but are equally applicable to the House Building and Build to Rent sectors in addition.
Shay Cleary Architects + Cullen Payne Architects are working together as a single cohesive architectural team, building upon our history of previous work in partnership together. We look forward to our continued work in partnership with Wexford County Council and our design team colleagues, Cundall, Lawlor Burns, Garland Consultancy and Murray Associates.
