Guinness Quarter Submitted for Planning Approval

Shay Cleary Architects are delighted to have contributed to the plans for the Guinness Quarter, a new neighbourhood at St. James’s Gate in Dublin, which have now been submitted for approval. Masterplanned by Faulkner Browns, Shay Cleary Architects have developed the design for two major elements of the masterplan, a retrofit and extension of the Brewhouse 02 which will include the new headquarters of Diageo, and a second major commercial and mixed use building adjacent to the iconic Guinness Storehouse.

The proposals include 336 new homes, hotels, a 300-seat performance space, a food hall, marketplace, commercial space and more. The Guinness Quarter will also include more than two acres of landscaped public space and the retrofit, repurposing and extension of heritage structures. Ballymore and Diageo have placed sustainability at the heart of their proposals for Guinness Quarter. The joint ambition is to create Dublin’s first operational zero carbon district that respects both the wider community and the natural environment.

Congratulations to the Guinness Quarter team for reaching this milestone!
