We are delighted to be partnering with the Architectural Association of Ireland alongside our clients Kennedy Wilson and contracting team from Glenbeigh Construction for a Site Visit to our innovative Low-Rise, High-Density residential development, The Residences, Sandford Lodge.
The visit is part of the AAI Site Visit Series S M L XL Multi-Unit Housing collection, a series of site visits to multi-unit housing projects of different scales by Wrkshop Architects, Shay Cleary Architects, McCullough Mulvin Architects, GKMP Architects and Henry J Lyons Architects.
The Residences, Sandford Lodge is an exclusive development of 36 generous one- and two-bedroom homes set within a private landscaped public green in Dublin 6. Building upon the practices long term research projects into high quality, low rise, high density residential design, the scheme provides high amenity residential of generous size, with ample private open terraces and gardens and superb access to sunlight and daylight with double and triple aspect units.
The scheme achieves a very high density of approximately 100 units per hectare, comparable to taller apartment schemes while never rising above 3 floors, fitting into the surrounding residential context, and providing a more cost-effective solution when compared to more traditional development proposals.
The scheme responds sensitively to its surrounding, protecting sunlight and daylight access to the surrounding neighbors and maintaining privacy to the rear elevations by designing out overlooking.
